1-Petra, Jordan

Researchers think that Petra was founded around 300 B. Chr. as the capital of Arab Nabataean. Today it is the main tourist attraction of Jordan. The city is known for the rock-cut architecture and water supply system.

Petra is described by UNESCO as “one of the most precious cultural properties of the human heritage. The city is more than 2,000 years remained hidden until it was discovered in 1812 by the Swiss Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. He was disguised as a Persian tourist to visit the place because it was not safe for a Christian to venture further into this region
